Legal Officer Grade L41

- Position Level: Contract
Terms of Appointment
- Malaysian citizens; and
- Not less than 18 years old on the closing date of the position advertisement; and
- Candidates for appointment must have Honors (at least Grade C) in the Malay language subject at the Malaysian Education Certificate / Malaysian Vocational Certificate or a qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government;
and - (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Law recognized by the Government from a local institution of higher learning or a recognized qualification equivalent to it.
(Starting salary is at Grade L41: RM2,418.00); or
(ii) Legal Practice Certificate.
(Starting salary is at Grade L41: RM2,418.00); or
(iii) Barrister-at-law-England.
(Starting salary is at Grade L41: RM2,418.00); or
(iv) Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature of England or Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales from the Solicitor Regulation Authority.

5.1 Officers currently serving in the service of Assistant Legal Officer or Interpreter Grades LA29/30, LA32, LA38, LA40 are eligible to be considered by the Appointing Authority for Promotion by Appointment to the position of Legal Officer Grade L41, subject to vacancies when confirmed in service and :
i. Have the qualifications in paragraphs 4; and
i. Appointment age limit:
a. Aged less than 54 years on the date of appointment for officers whose compulsory retirement age is 55 or 56 years; or
b. Aged less than 56 years on the date of appointment for officers whose compulsory retirement age is 58 years; or
c. Aged less than 58 years on the date of appointment for officers whose compulsory retirement age is 60 years.
