Appointment Requirements:
Candidates for appointment must possess the following qualifications:
Malaysian
not less than 18 years of age on the closing date of the position advertisement; and
Forest Ranger Forestry Certificate from the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia or an equivalent recognized qualification by the Government.
(Starting salary at Grade G29: RM1,494.00); or
a diploma in forestry or a related field recognized by the Government from a local higher education institution or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto.
(Starting salary at Grade G29: RM1,847.86).

Conditions of Promotion by Appointment:
Officers currently serving as Forest Conservators in Grade G19/20, G22, G26, or G28 are eligible for consideration by the relevant Appointing Authority for Promotion by Appointment to the post of Assistant Forest Conservator Grade G29, subject to vacancies, when confirmed in service and:
possesses the qualifications in paragraph 1(c); or
passes the Specialty Examination; and
the age limit for an appointment:
is less than 54 years of age on the date of appointment for officers whose mandatory retirement age is 55 or 56 years; or
less than 56 years of age on the date of appointment for officers whose mandatory retirement age is 58 years; or
less than 58 years old on the date of appointment for officials whose mandatory retirement age is 60 years old.
Malay Language Requirement:
Candidates for appointment must have an Honours (at least Grade C) in Malay language subjects in the Malaysian Certificate of Education/Malaysian Vocational Certificate or a qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government.

Responsible for assisting in planning, managing, and controlling forestry activities by Government regulations and policies.

PROMOTION BY APPOINTMENT (PSL) REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVING OFFICIALS:
Officers currently serving as Public Assistants and Operations Assistants are eligible to be considered by the relevant Appointing Authority for Promotion by Appointment to the post of Grade G19 Forest Supervisor subject to vacancies and meeting the following requirements:
have been confirmed in service; and
possess the qualifications in point 2(c) above or pass the Special Examination; and
age limit for an appointment:
less than 54 years of age on the date of appointment for officers whose mandatory retirement age is 55 or 56 years; or
less than 56 years old on the date of appointment for officials whose mandatory retirement age is 58 years old; or

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for assisting Forest Rangers/Assistant Forest Rangers in implementing and monitoring forest reserve areas permanent reserve forests and government land forests, forest development activities, forest exploitation, wood-based industrial development, forest product production, recreational forest management, and forest nurseries, assisting in the collection of forestry information and enforcement of related forestry laws.
