General

  1. Assist in the department’s contribution to the formulation and implementation of FIMM Strategic Planning and Business Plan.
  2. Maintaining strong rapport with effective communication and regular engagements, with all stakeholders on matters pertaining to FIMM and the industry.
  3. Lead in preparation of regular reports for Supervisors (wherever relevant).
  4. To perform all duties and assignments as directed by the Supervisors (wherever relevant).

B.      Specific 

  1. Supervise members and registered persons business conduct and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements issued by FIMM and the SC.
  2. Lead in planning and conduct off-site reviews, on-site examination and surveillance activities on members and registered persons (where relevant) as assigned by the Supervisor, to ensure that their business conduct and sales practices comply with the relevant securities laws, rules, regulations and guidelines in relation to their marketing and distribution activities.
  3. Identify trends in market practices which are of high risk and non-compliance with regulations.
  4. Update process and procedures on various initiatives including Department’s SOP (wherever relevant), as assigned by the Supervisor.
  5. Manage compilation and identification of possible misconduct from the complaints register submitted to FIMM before initiating referral to other FIMM’s line department.
  6. Assist in any other ad-hoc assignments as specified by the Supervisor (wherever relevant).

Qualification and Experience

  1. Degree in Law, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or relevant tertiary qualification.
  2. Minimum five (5) years related working experience in the regulatory, fund management, unit trust, banking or financial institution industries.
  3. Investment Management experience is an advantage.
  4. Sound knowledge of FIMM and Securities Commission rules and regulations applicable to unit trust and private retirement schemes
  5. Exposure to compliance and/or auditing function is an advantage.
