PT Akashi Wahana Indonesia (AWI) was established to support Indonesian Government policy in automotive industry specifically on high local content and environmental friendly cars. Operated as a joint venture company between Akashi Kikai Industry Japan (own 65 % shares of AWI) under Daihatsu Motor Corporation Japan and PT Wahana Eka Paramitra (own 35 % shares of AWI) under PT Astra Otoparts Tbk, who have transmission assy manufacturing knowhow. AWI established on April 2006 to achieve both company vision and become a strong and trusted company to support PT Astra Daihatsu Motor our sister company as car manufacturer. AWI products will expand as customer and market needs, we provided in 2014 the first Low Cost Green Car transmission assy as proves that we support our customer, environment and users. In 2014 AWI started the operation at owned new office and factory located in Surya Cipta City of Industry, East Karawang in a 93,790 m2 (land), supporting with around 400 people as our qualified asset. We are equipped by sophisticated manufacturing facility, quality equipments to provide high quality products and concern to safety and environment aspects.
