We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mandarin Teacher to join our Secondary Education department. This is a contract position based in North Jakarta, Jakarta. As a Mandarin Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Mandarin language instruction to secondary school students, fostering their linguistic abilities, cultural awareness, and appreciation for the Chinese language.
Key responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging Mandarin language lessons aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives
Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation, confidence, and proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin
Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments tailored to various proficiency levels
Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence and support student learning across year levels
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement
Participate in school activities, professional development opportunities, and curriculum development initiatives
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Mandarin Language, Education, or related field
Proven teaching experience in secondary education settings, preferably in Mandarin language instruction
Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (Simplified or Traditional characters)
Strong command of English for classroom communication and interaction with colleagues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learners
Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching effectiveness
Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for language education
Experience working in international or multicultural school environments is preferred
