QA/QC Engineer – Fabrication (HDPE Piping Systems)

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced QA/QC Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure that fabrication activities and project deliverables comply with applicable quality standards, customer requirements, project specifications, and the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is an advantage.

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in QA/QC, preferably in piping fabrication, manufacturing, oil and gas, infrastructure, water, or industrial projects.

• Hands-on experience in HDPE pipe and fitting fabrication, including butt fusion, electrofusion, and spool fabrication, is highly preferred.

• Experience coordinating customer inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), quality audits, and project quality documentation.

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HDPE piping standards, specifications, and quality requirements.

• Ability to prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Project Quality Plans (PQP), Method Statements, Manufacturing Data Records (MDR), and Quality Dossiers.

• Ability to interpret isometric drawings, shop fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications.

• Good understanding of material traceability, dimensional inspection, pressure testing, and FAT activities.

• Familiarity with NCR, CAR, and PAR management, including root cause analysis methods such as 5 Whys and Fishbone Analysis.

• Familiarity with SAP QM or equivalent quality management systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and applicable project quality requirements.

• Review fabrication quality requirements, project specifications, and inspection plans.

• Prepare, review, and monitor project quality documentation, including ITPs, PQPs, Method Statements, MDRs, and Quality Dossiers.

• Monitor and inspect fabrication activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.

• Ensure the proper implementation of material traceability, dimensional inspection, pressure testing, and final inspection activities.

• Monitor quality performance and analyze NCR trends to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Coordinate customer inspections, third-party inspections, FAT activities, and internal and external audits.

• Lead and follow up on corrective and preventive actions arising from quality non-conformities.

• Conduct root cause analysis and ensure the effective implementation of corrective actions.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong quality culture across the organization.

• Work closely with the Production, Engineering, and Project teams to ensure the consistent achievement of quality requirements.
