Job Description
1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Transformation
Develop and execute category sourcing strategies across Direct, Indirect, CAPEX, and Services.
Transform Procurement from a transactional buying function into a strategic sourcing organization.
Improve procurement productivity by reducing sourcing lead time and strengthening SLA compliance.
Establish procurement governance, performance dashboards, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
2. Supplier Development & Diversification
Develop supplier diversification strategies, particularly for critical raw materials, packaging, engineering, and operational categories.
Reduce dependency on single-source suppliers while ensuring business continuity.
Lead supplier qualification, technical trial coordination, supplier performance evaluation, and continuous vendor development.
Build long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
3. Commercial & Contract Excellence
Lead strategic commercial negotiations to achieve optimal commercial terms.
Develop and negotiate contracts with appropriate commercial protections, including performance-based payment, retention, service level agreements (SLA), warranty, and penalty clauses.
Collaborate closely with Finance and Legal to strengthen contract governance and commercial risk management.
4. Cost Leadership & Value Optimization
Drive annual cost saving and cost avoidance initiatives across procurement categories.
Ensure procurement decisions are based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), balancing acquisition cost, operational efficiency, maintenance, lifecycle cost, and business value.
Challenge business requirements and specifications to optimize spending without compromising operational effectiveness.
5. Procurement Governance & Compliance
Review and continuously improve Procurement SOPs, policies, and approval matrix (LoA).
Strengthen procurement compliance, sourcing governance, and audit readiness.
Improve Purchase Brief quality and procurement planning in collaboration with business users.
Monitor procurement KPIs and sourcing SLA performance.
6. Digital Procurement & Process Improvement
Lead e-Procurement implementation and continuous enhancement.
Expand contract pricing, blanket PO, catalog purchasing, and procurement automation.
Develop procurement analytics and spend visibility to support data-driven decision making.
7. Business Partnership
Act as a strategic business partner to Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Support business case evaluations, CAPEX projects, budgeting processes, supplier risk mitigation, and business continuity initiatives.
Provide commercial recommendations that balance operational requirements with financial objectives.
8. Leadership & Organization Development
Build and develop a high-performing procurement organization.
Coach and develop procurement team capabilities.
Drive change management initiatives and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
Develop succession planning and organizational capability.
Qualifications
Professional procurement certification (CIPS, CPSM, CPP, CSCP, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in FMCG, Food Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, or large-scale manufacturing industries.
Strong experience managing Direct Procurement, Indirect Procurement, CAPEX, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Management.
