Product Development Manager

We are now looking for a Product Development Manager to strenghten a key business division within our fast-growing swimwear manufacturing company. The selected candidate will oversee the end-to-end development process, guide technical teams, and ensure that all products meet high standards of quality, fit, stretch performance, and market readiness.

Core Responsibilities

·       Lead and manage the full product development lifecycle, from concept evaluation and sample creation to final approval and production handover.

·       Oversee technical development activities, including pattern accuracy, fit improvements, grading across size ranges, construction methods, and material suitability.

·       Own product costing and margin targets in partnership with sourcing and finance including final pricing approval.

·       Manage the seasonal development calendar and critical path, ensuring milestones are hit across concept, sampling, fit approval, and handover.

·       Collaborate with internal teams: design, marketing, sales and merchandising, sourcing, and production - to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliverables.

·       Liaise with vendors and factories on development timelines, sample quality, and costing.

·       Provide direction and guidance to development and technical teams, ensuring consistent quality and efficient execution.

·       Review prototypes and samples, identify improvement areas, and resolve technical challenges to enhance product readiness.

·       Ensure products meet relevant compliance, safety, and testing standards.

·       Maintain confidentiality regarding development processes and organizational changes.

·       Guide trend research and creative direction for upcoming collections, shaping design, fabrication, and styling decisions.

·       Ensure accurate and timely documentation is handed over to technical and production teams.

·       Support the preparation of product content for catalog and e-commerce use.

·       Coordinate pre-launch product testing to validate quality and fit ahead of release.

·       Incorporate customer and aftersales feedback into future product development.

Qualifications

·       Minimum 5 years of experience in apparel product development, with strong technical and managerial exposure.

·       Degree in Fashion/Apparel Design, Textile Engineering, or equivalent experience.

·       Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple development cycles simultaneously.

·       Strong understanding of product construction, pattern development, grading, fit correction, and sample evaluation.

·       Experience working with international teams or clients, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

·       Experience with project management tools such as Notion, Monday, or ClickUp.

·       Proficiency in digital development tools such as CLO3D / Browzwear / Optitex / Illustrator.

·       Able to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and make sound technical decisions.
