POWERBI ENGINEER

Van Oord is looking for bright minds to strengthen our Tendering and Engineering Department in a role focused on developing Business Intelligence solutions. Using Power BI, you will create insights into our Tendering and Engineering organization.

Van Oord is undergoing a digital transformation, leveraging data to monitor and optimize processes during both the tender and execution phases. We use various systems to log our internal processes, and our Tendering and Engineering Department seeks a developer who can integrate different software solutions into dashboards that enhance our internal processes.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Power BI Engineer, you will develop BI dashboards to provide insights into our Tendering and Engineering Department. You will collaborate within a Power BI team to define necessary dashboards, ensure alignment between them, and manage a backlog of BI dashboard requests from the department. Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, prioritize tasks, and implement improvements.

In this role, you will contribute to the Tendering and Engineering Department with various responsibilities of which the main responsibility is :

• Developing PowerBI dashboards to support operational excellence within the department.

• Regularly meet with stakeholders to brainstorm and identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for the dashboards.

• Analytical thinking to transform the data so it can be used for insights.

• Proactively tracking and documenting missing business requirements in the current software and communicating these to relevant managers.

• Ensuring alignment between dashboards and other operational excellent initiatives.

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems while maintaining high data quality.

ABOUT YOU     

You have:

• A Bachelor Degree in Engineering, IT or other relevant fields.

• Experience as a PowerBI engineer and therefore you :

  • Understand the limits of the software

  • Have an extensive knowledge of both the front- and back-end of the software

  • Have worked with online and local Power BI

• Experience with reporting, monitoring and backlog of errors.

• The ability to interact with the stakeholders and communicate effectively with other team members.

• Good command of the English language, spoken and written.

• Ability to explain (complicated) topics in an understandable way to various stakeholders.

• You are fulltime available (40 hours) and willing to travel daily to our office in Cibubur.

• (Extra) – Experience in PowerApps or Python

ABOUT THE TEAM

In the position of PowerBI Engineer you will be part of one of the Van Oord teams in Indonesia. Currently 30 people are working from the office in Cibubur, just South of Jakarta, as part of the Van Oord Tendering and Engineering Department, located in The Netherlands.
