Logistics Assistant Manager ( Steel Manufacturing)
Our client, one of Indonesia's leading steel manufacturing companies. The company produces flat steel products used in industries such as automotive, construction, appliances, and general manufacturing.
This is a large-scale manufacturing operation where logistics is a critical function. The role involves ensuring the smooth movement of raw materials into the plant and finished steel products to customers, while maintaining safety, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities :
Oversee end-to-end inbound & outbound logistics operations.
Manage warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, material flow, and storage.
Coordinate with Production, Procurement, and Sales to ensure smooth movement of materials.
Manage transportation, distribution, fleet operations, and 3PL providers.
Ensure on-time deliveries, resolve logistics issues, and optimize logistics costs.
Supervise logistics teams and ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Coordinate export shipments, including loading & unloading, transport arrangements, and port operations.
Requirements :
Minimum 8 years of Logistics Operations experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
Mandatory experience in Steel Manufacturing, Steel Distribution, Heavy Equipment, Metal Fabrication, or other Heavy Industrial Manufacturing.
Strong hands-on experience in:
Heavy Material Handling (22–30 tonne loads)
Inbound & Outbound Logistics
Transportation & Distribution
Fleet Management & 3PL
Export Shipments & Port Operations
Fast Loading & Unloading Operations
Logistics Safety & Compliance
Proven experience arranging vehicles/trucks and handling local transportation challenges.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
