About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance & Accounting Lead to join our team in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. This is a full-time position that will be central to our financial operations and strategic planning. As Finance & Accounting Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. This role is critical to maintaining the financial health of our organisation and supporting our growth objectives across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and financial reconciliations

• Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements

• Lead the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and minimise financial risk

• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, working with departmental heads to develop realistic financial projections and monitor performance against targets

• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of work and professional development

• Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior management to support business decision-making

• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements in East Kalimantan and across Indonesia

• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial stakeholders

• Implement and maintain accounting systems and software, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation within the finance function

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or equivalent recognised certification

• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity

• Strong knowledge of Indonesian accounting standards (SAK/IFRS) and tax regulations

• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, accounts management, budgeting, and financial analysis

• Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels

• Experience in team leadership, mentoring, and developing accounting professionals

• Proven track record of implementing financial controls and improving accounting processes

• Knowledge of the manufacturing, trading, or natural resources sector would be advantageous

• Fluency in Indonesian and English, both written and verbal
