About the role
Stella Gracia School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Chinese Teacher to join our primary education team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners and develop their Chinese language skills in a supportive and dynamic educational environment. Based in East Nusa Tenggara, you will play a vital role in fostering linguistic competency, cultural awareness, and a genuine love of the Chinese language amongst our primary school students. This position is integral to our commitment to providing comprehensive language education and preparing our students for an increasingly interconnected world.
What you'll be doing
Planning and delivering engaging Chinese language lessons tailored to the primary school curriculum and aligned with the needs and abilities of your students
Developing age-appropriate teaching materials, resources and assessments that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding
Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages participation, confidence and enthusiasm for learning Chinese
Assessing student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for development
Collaborating with colleagues to integrate Chinese language learning across the wider curriculum where appropriate
Communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behaviour and achievements
Participating actively in school events, activities and cultural celebrations that promote Chinese language and heritage
Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and behaviour in accordance with school policies and procedures
Contributing to the professional development of the school through ongoing training, curriculum development and collaborative planning
What we're looking for
Qualified teacher status or equivalent teaching qualification in primary education or Chinese language instruction
Demonstrable proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) with excellent communication skills
Substantial experience teaching Chinese language to primary school aged children
Strong knowledge of effective pedagogical approaches and methodologies for language teaching
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of all students
Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive, respectful and inclusive learning environment
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and wellbeing of children
Flexibility, resilience and a positive attitude towards collaborative working and continuous professional development
Experience in an international or multicultural school setting is highly desirable
Familiarity with international primary curriculum frameworks or relevant teaching standards is advantageous

Stella Gracia School was established in 2014. We currently have 6 branches: Pekanbaru, Kupang, Makassar, Palu, Lombok, and Bandar Lampung, and we are still continuing to grow. We have adopted Singaporean and IGCSE and 'A' Level Curriculum for our primary and secondary (Junior High - Senior High) programs. We are a trilingual school where students actively communicate in Indonesian, English, and Chinese. Cooperative and discovery learning are the core of our curriculum, where teachers act as facilitators in class to guide students discover a new concept together on their own and help each other learn.
