About the role

Safrin Maruli Chartered Accountant is seeking a Supervisor Auditor to join our External Audit team in East Jakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality external audit services to our diverse client portfolio. As Supervisor Auditor, you will oversee audit engagements, mentor junior team members, and ensure compliance with audit standards and regulatory requirements. This position is integral to maintaining the quality and reputation of our audit practice whilst contributing to the strategic growth of the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review audit work performed by junior auditors, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and firm policies

• Plan and coordinate external audit engagements, including scoping, budgeting, and resource allocation

• Conduct detailed audit procedures across various financial statement areas including revenue, expenditure, assets, and liabilities

• Develop and execute audit programs tailored to client-specific risks and circumstances

• Review audit documentation and working papers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to audit procedures

• Identify and evaluate audit findings, risks, and control deficiencies

• Prepare audit reports and management letters communicating findings and recommendations to clients

• Liaise with clients to understand their business environment, industry dynamics, and key risk areas

• Mentor, guide, and provide feedback to junior audit staff to support their professional development

• Maintain compliance with professional and regulatory standards, including those set by relevant accounting bodies

• Participate in quality assurance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA, or equivalent qualification from a recognized body

• Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in external audit practice, with demonstrated supervisory or senior experience

• Strong knowledge of auditing standards (such as International Standards on Auditing), accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements

• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with the capacity to build effective relationships with clients and team members

• Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to manage and motivate audit teams

• Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy

• Knowledge of Indonesian accounting standards and regulations is highly desirable

• Experience with various industries and complex audit engagements is preferred
