Key responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate airfreight handling operations, including loading, unloading, documentation, and storage of air cargo
Manage and mentor airfreight operations team members, ensuring they meet performance targets and maintain professional standards
Monitor compliance with aviation safety regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
Coordinate with warehouse staff, pilots, ground handlers and airline representatives to optimise cargo flow and flight schedules
Prepare and review airfreight documentation, manifests, shipping invoices and customs declarations for accuracy
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to maintain service quality and efficiency
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including cargo throughput, on-time delivery and safety metrics
Conduct regular inspections of airfreight facilities, equipment and storage areas to ensure compliance and safety standards
Liaise with customers and internal departments to resolve queries and provide updates on cargo status
Train and develop team members on airfreight procedures, safety protocols and customer service excellence
What we're looking for
Proven experience in airfreight operations or logistics supervision, preferably in a fast-paced airport or cargo handling environment
Supervisory or team leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to motivate and develop team members
Strong knowledge of air cargo handling procedures, aviation safety regulations and international shipping documentation
Familiarity with customs regulations and import/export requirements relevant to air freight operations
Proficiency with logistics management systems and cargo tracking software
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong communication skills in both English and Indonesian, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
High level of attention to detail, particularly regarding documentation and compliance
Valid driving license and willingness to work flexible hours, including early morning, evening or on-call shifts as required
Preferred: IATA Dangerous Goods certification or equivalent airfreight-specific qualifications, cargo wise system
