Logistics Staff

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Staff to oversee and execute end-to-end bulk commodity logistics operations. This role is responsible for managing daily barge transportation, vessel loading schedules, stockpile management, and export port operations for Bauxite and Nickel. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in bulk material handling, marine logistics coordination, and regulatory compliance within the mining and mineral industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bauxite & Nickel Logistics Operations

• Manage day-to-day logistics operations across mining sites, stockpiles, river ports, loading jetties, and export terminals.

• Monitor stockpile inventories (tonnage, moisture content, and grade quality) to ensure continuous cargo availability for shipments.

• Coordinate with site operations, surveyors, and laboratory teams for sampling, assaying, and quality release prior to vessel loading.

• Coordinate barge transportation from mining sites or stockpiles to loading ports and jetties, ensuring timely cargo delivery.

• Coordinate vessel loading schedules with terminals, operations teams, and shipping agents to achieve loading targets.

• Resolve operational bottlenecks, weather disruptions, equipment downtime, and port congestion to maintain efficient logistics operations.

2. Shipment & Maritime Management

• Manage end-to-end domestic and export shipping operations, including barge transportation, tugboat operations, and ocean-going vessel loading.

• Serve as the primary operational liaison between shipowners, charterers, shipping agents, port authorities, surveyors, and cargo owners.

• Monitor loading rates and calculate Laytime, Demurrage, and Despatch in accordance with charter party terms.

• Prepare, review, and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (B/L), Cargo Manifests, Draft Survey Reports, Certificates of Sampling & Analysis (COA), Certificates of Origin, and other export documents.

• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, customs requirements, export documentation, and port clearance procedures (including Syahbandar requirements).

3. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate and evaluate the performance of logistics service providers, including tug & barge operators, stevedores, trucking contractors, and independent marine surveyors.

• Verify freight invoices, port charges, contractor invoices, and survey fees against contractual terms before payment processing.

• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, including Loading Progress Reports, Vessel Position Lists, Shipment Status Trackers, and logistics performance summaries.

• Coordinate closely with internal commercial, procurement, mining operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless logistics execution.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics costs, operational efficiency, and shipment performance.
