HSE Officer
About the role
PT Wishindo Mandiri is seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Officer to join our Health, Safety and Environment team. Based in Cimanggis, Jawa Barat, this is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace across our construction operations. As HSE Officer, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to protect our workforce, assets, and the environment. This role is essential to our commitment to operational excellence and safeguarding the wellbeing of all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and standards in compliance with Indonesian regulations and international best practices
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with HSE requirements across all construction projects
Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence
Provide HSE training and induction programmes to all employees and contractors, ensuring awareness and competence in health, safety and environmental procedures
Monitor and maintain HSE performance metrics, dashboards and KPIs, reporting findings to management and senior leadership
Manage and maintain HSE documentation, permits, certificates and statutory records in accordance with legal requirements
Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness campaigns to promote a strong safety culture within the organisation
Liaise with external HSE consultants, regulatory bodies and authorities to ensure compliance and support during inspections or investigations
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance and lead implementation initiatives
Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including coordination of evacuation procedures and incident management protocols
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 2 years of professional HSE experience in the construction industry or related industrial sector
Valid HSE certification such as A2K3 or equivalent Indonesian HSE qualifications
Strong knowledge of Indonesian labor laws, environmental regulations and construction safety standards
Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification and incident investigation
Excellent communication skills in both Indonesian and English, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels
Proficiency in HSE software systems, data analysis and Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement with a commitment to building a positive safety culture
Ability to work in challenging field conditions and travel to various construction sites as required
