Job Description:
We are looking for a System Engineer to join our team and support the infrastructure that powers our payment gateway platform. You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting secure and reliable systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and compliance with payment industry standards. This role requires close collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to support business growth while protecting customer data and transactions.
Responsibilities
Implement, maintain, and support infrastructure for payment systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
Manage and support AWS infrastructure for payment gateway services, ensuring availability, security, and compliance with PCI DSS requirements.
Administer and optimize Windows and Linux servers, including routine maintenance, patching, and performance monitoring.
Deploy, configure, and maintain application servers (Tomcat, Apache, Nginx) and databases.
Support system availability, scalability, backup, and disaster recovery activities.
Implement and monitor security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption, and DLP solutions.
Perform system monitoring, health checks, log analysis, troubleshooting, and incident response.
Support PCI DSS and other payment security compliance activities, including audits and documentation.
Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and system integration.
Work with external partners to ensure secure and reliable connectivity and integrations.
Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and operational processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience as a System Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as VPC, EC2, ALB/NLB, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, WAF, and KMS in production environments.
Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, load balancing, routing, and firewalls.
Experience administering Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL) environments.
Experience with application servers (Tomcat, Apache, Nginx) and databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with cloud platforms, virtualization, and container technologies such as VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of security principles and tools, including IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and encryption.
Understanding of PCI DSS and security requirements within the payment industry.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability production environment.
Good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
Experience with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef).
Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix, or ELK).
Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
Previous experience in the financial services or payment industry.
