AS400 PROGRAMMER

Required Technical Skills:

• 3–4 years of experience in RPG development on IBM i (AS/400).

• Strong knowledge of RPG IV, ILE RPG, Free Format RPG, CL Programming, and DB2 for i.

• Experience with Embedded SQL and SQL programming.

• Knowledge of IBM i system architecture and job management.

• Experience with debugging, performance tuning, and application support.

• Familiarity with source control and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Exposure to APIs, web services, or integration technologies is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.

• Design, code, test, debug, and implement RPG-based applications.

• Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand banking requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Support and maintain core banking applications and resolve production issues.

• Perform impact analysis for enhancements and change requests.

• Optimize existing programs for performance and maintainability.

• Develop and maintain CL programs, SQL scripts, and database objects.

• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

• Prepare technical documentation for development and support activities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during development, testing, and deployment.
