What skills and experience do you need?
Superintendent/ Coordinator: Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering; Supervisor: Diploma qualification in Mechanical Engineering; Trade Mechanic: Senior High School / Vocational School (Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
Superintendent: 10–12 years in mechanical maintenance/ engineering, incl. 5 years senior supervisory/leadership or 3 years as Superintendent/Section Head; Superintendent – Rebuild/Fabrication/Lubrication: preferred exposure in Rebuild/overhaul, workshop fabrication, lubrication management system; site-wide support (mining/utilities/smelter) is an advantage; Superintendent – General Support Process Plant: hands-on experience with primary gyratory crushers, grinding mills, flotation systems, and pump & conveyor systems. Experience leading unplanned breakdown response with multi-disciplinary teams.
Coordinator: Minimum 8–10 years in mechanical maintenance/ engineering, Incl. 5 years in a supervisory role OR at least 2 years in a similar role as Senior Supervisor/Coordinator in mechanical maintenance within heavy industry with extensive experience in rebuild, fabrication works, and lubrication management.
Supervisor: Minimum 8 years in mechanical maintenance, Incl. 3-5 years in relevant supervisory role; Supervisor – Maintenance Rebuild: have general experience in mechanical maintenance and rebuild of heavy equipment/fixed plant within large process plants; Supervisor – Maintenance Lubrication: have general experience in lubrication maintenance of heavy equipment/fixed plant within large process plants.
Trade – Mechanical: Minimum 4 years in mechanical maintenance; Mechanic – Lubrication: proven experience working in lubrication route/equipment or fixed/process plant maintenance and basic machinery inspection/troubleshooting in processing/fixed plant industries.
Have experiences within large Fixed Process Plant/Concentrator/ Mineral Processing / Mining / Cement plant/ Oil & Gas/ Heavy Industry environments; Preferred exposure: Rebuild/overhaul, workshop fabrication, lubrication management system; site-wide support (mining/utilities/smelter) is an advantage.
Must-have Skills (Core – applies across Superintendent/Senior Engineer/Engineer/Supervisor)
- Strong execution of preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance** to sustain availability and minimize downtime; strong coordination with Operations/Planning/Warehouse and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong safety governance and compliance with PTW, JSA/JSEA, risk assessments, and LOTO; ability to promote zero-harm culture and enforce stop-work where applicable.
- Strong troubleshooting and reliability mindset, including RCA/RCFA, continuous improvement initiatives, and performance/KPI reporting.
- Strong documentation discipline and use of CMMS/administrative systems for work orders, history, cost control, and reporting.
Must-have Skills (Role/Level-Specific)
Rebuild / Overhaul / Workshop Fabrication (Superintendent/Coordinator/Supervisor Rebuild)
- Proven capability in rebuild/overhaul practices for major components (e.g., pumps, gearboxes, crushers, conveyor drives/take-up, screens, motors/drives, hydraulic systems), including disassembly/inspection/repair/refurbishment/reassembly.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings/OEM manuals and apply rebuild standards; control of machining tolerances, alignment principles, and precision measurement tools (micrometer, dial gauge, bore gauge).
- Fabrication workshop control: welding/machining/fitting/structural and piping fabrication/modification; ensuring work follows approved drawings and welding procedures with quality acceptance.
Lubrication Excellence (Superintendent/Coordinator/Supervisor Lubrication/Mechanic Lubrication)
- Strong lubrication management practices: lubrication routes/checklists/schedules, correct lubricant selection per OEM specs, contamination control, oil analysis/condition monitoring, and support to predictive maintenance integration.
- Ability to analyze lubrication-related failures using RCA and recommend improvements (e.g., filtration upgrades, automatic lubrication, storage/handling standards).
- For Mechanic level: hands-on greasing/oil top-up/change, filter/breather service, basic inspection/diagnostics and oil sampling support, plus accurate checklist/CMMS recording and housekeeping/spill control.
General Support / Shift Maintenance (Superintendent General Support & Supervisor Shift)
- Ability to lead rapid breakdown response and problem-solving strategies for major process plant assets; coordinate mechanical/electrical/instrument teams; enforce permits/LOTO and hazard controls.
- Strong hands-on knowledge across fixed plant equipment coverage: crushers, grinding mills, flotation, pumps/piping, screens, conveyors; ability to support shutdown planning and emergency response.
- Strong shift execution discipline: work order execution from CMMS/SAP, shift handover/communication, incident reporting, and continuous improvement identification.
Good-to-have:
- Reliability engineering methods such as MTBF analysis, RCFA leadership, and standardization/benchmarking programs (including reliability-centered lubrication/RCL).
- Exposure to vibration analysis, lubrication, and alignment practices (noted as preferred for shift maintenance).
- CMMS proficiency (SAP PM / Pronto / Maximo or equivalent) for work orders, planning/ scheduling, monitoring, budgeting/cost control, spares usage, documentation control, and reporting.
- Strong reporting/computer literacy and ability to prepare technical reports and KPI summaries.
-Exposure to inspection and condition monitoring practices (e.g., analysis basics, equipment condition checks) and maintenance performance reporting.
-Experience managing contractors/vendors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance
- Certification / License:
-> Superintendent – General Support (Advantage): Safety/reliability/maintenance-related certifications or training (as stated).
-> Coordinator (Preferred): Mechanical maintenance certification, welding/fabrication knowledge, lubrication certification, and mining safety training.
-> Supervisor – Maintenance Rebuild (Advantage): Machinery rebuild/overhaul certification, precision alignment certification, rotating equipment maintenance certification.
-> Supervisor – Maintenance Lubrication (Preferred): Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT I/II), Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS), oil analysis and/or reliability engineering training.
-> Supervisor – Shift Maintenance (Preferred): Mechanical trade certification.
-> Mechanic – Lubrication (Supportive/Preferred): Basic K3, LOTO, Working at Height, Confined Space; Lubrication Level 1 / MLT I.
