To support our expansion project in Mining Fixed Processing Plant/ Mineral Processing, we are looking for highly motivated and experienced professionals to fill the following position:

Mechanic – General

What skills and experience do you need?

Superintendent/ Coordinator/ Engineer: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering; Supervisor: Diploma qualification in Mechanical Engineering; Trade Mechanic: Senior High School / Vocational School (Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).

Superintendent: 10–12 years in mechanical maintenance/ engineering, incl. 5 years senior supervisory/leadership or 3 years as Superintendent/Section Head.

Engineer: 8 years in mechanical maintenance/engineering; at least 5 years in relevant engineering roles aligned to the applied stream.

Coordinator: Minimum 8–10 years in mechanical maintenance/ engineering, Incl. 5 years in a supervisory role OR at least 2 years in a similar role as Senior Supervisor/Coordinator.

Supervisor: Minimum 8 years in mechanical maintenance, Incl. 3-5 years in relevant supervisory role.

Trade – Mechanical: Minimum 4 years in mechanical maintenance

Have experiences within large Process Fixed Plant / Mineral Processing / Mining / Heavy Industry environments.

Must-have Skills (Core – applies across Superintendent/Coordinator/Supervisor/Engineer):

  • Strong mechanical maintenance & reliability mindset; Strong execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; ability to coordinate/lead daily work execution and prioritize work orders.

  • Strong troubleshooting capability and participation/leadership in RCA/RCFA to eliminate recurring failures and improve reliability.

  • Strong shutdown / major maintenance capability (planning/support, scope readiness, manpower/tools/spares/material availability, execution control).

  • Strong HSE compliance; Strong leadership and coordination with Operations/Engineering/Planning/Procurement and contractor supervision.

  • Good English communication (written & verbal) and strong reporting/computer literacy

Must-have Skills (Trade – Mechanic General):

  • Hands-on maintenance/repair across plant systems including conveyors/drives, motors, batch plants, pumps, gearboxes; perform routine PM and diagnose mechanical issues using measuring/testing instruments.   

  • Practical skills: use hand/power tools; basic cutting/welding; basic rebuilding/assembly of process equipment; basic pipe layouts; ability to work from written instructions and basic drawings/manuals.

  • Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals including basics of electrical/hydraulics/pneumatics; lubrication functions; pump rebuilds; crusher rebuilds; conveyor alignment/maintenance; grinding mill relines; piping/fitting.

Flotation, Utility & Filter Plant (Superintendent/Coordinator/Supervisor/Engineer scope):

  • Strong exposure to flotation circuits and equipment (cells/agitators), thickener systems, slurry pumps, filtration units/filter presses, compressors, and pump & piping systems supporting fixed plant operations.

  • For related areas: supervision/execution across flotation zones (Rougher/Scavenger/Cleaner/Regrind) and associated pumps, piping, valves, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.

  • Exposure to Filter Plant & Port material handling/concentrate handling systems, including pumps, piping, conveyors, rotating equipment (where applicable).

  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and mechanical/technical drawings for maintenance/troubleshooting.

Grinding/Milling, Conveyor & Crushing (Superintendent/Coordinator/Supervisor/Engineer scope):

  • Strong exposure to mechanical maintenance of crushing circuits (gyratory/jaw/cone crushers, feeders, screens, conveyors).

  • Strong exposure to grinding/milling equipment and systems: SAG Mill, Ball Mill, drive systems (gearbox/girth gear/pinion/couplings), liners/trommel/discharge, and pebble crushing/handling circuits.

  • Strong exposure to conveyor systems, including Overland Conveyor (OLC) components (belts, idlers/rollers/pulleys, take-up systems, cleaners/skirting, drive units) and execution of shutdown activities.

  • Familiarity with belt splicing (hot & cold), belt replacement programs, and quality verification aligned with standards/OEM specs (OLC specialization).

  • Exposure to screening systems and vibrating equipment reliability, inspections, and maintenance planning.

Specialized Systems (Supervisor scope):

- CCD, Swiss Tower/Clarifiers & Desalination: thickener drives, pumps, desalination/RO systems; safe execution and reliability improvements.

- Pumps: slurry/process water/tailings/reclaim/chemical dosing systems; overhaul/alignment/balancing, mechanical seals, vibration/condition checks, and performance monitoring.

- Pebble: pebble crusher/handling systems, wear part optimization, lubrication improvement, vibration monitoring, and KPI focus (MTBF/MTTR/availability).

Good-to-have Skills:

  • Familiarity with reliability approaches/tools such as RCM, FMEA, maintenance planning & scheduling exposure, and structured continuous improvement programs.

  • Exposure to inspection and condition monitoring practices (e.g., vibration/oil analysis basics, equipment condition checks) and maintenance performance reporting.

  • Experience managing contractors/vendors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance

  • CMMS proficiency (SAP PM preferred; SAP/Maximo/equivalent) for work orders, reporting, and maintenance records; AutoCAD preferred

  • Microsoft Office; strong documentation and reporting capability.
