About the role
PT Kuala Pelabuhan Indonesia is seeking a talented Tire Superintendent to join our dynamic team. In this full-time, on-site role located in Timika, Papua Tengah, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management and maintenance of our tire inventory and operations.
What you'll be doing
1. Coordinate the end-to-end management of tire operations, including storage, distribution, and maintenance, ensuring timely availability and optimal performance of tires across the mining fleet.
2. Develop and implement tire maintenance programs that monitor wear patterns, predict replacement needs, and maximize tire lifespan while maintaining safety and cost efficiency.
3. Lead a team of tire technicians and support staff, providing clear direction, technical guidance, and professional development opportunities to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
4. Maintain accurate records of tire inventory, usage, and performance data, leveraging analytics to inform strategic decisions and optimize operational processes.
5. Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to streamline tire management workflows, reduce delays, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
6. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, embedding best practices into daily operations and fostering a strong safety culture.
7. Analyze tire performance trends and prepare detailed reports for management, identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
8. Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring service quality aligns with company standards.
9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by introducing innovative tire technologies, improving maintenance techniques, and implementing cost-effective solutions.
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 10+ years of experience in a similar tire management or logistics role, preferably within the mining, manufacturing or transportation industries
2. Strong technical knowledge of tire construction, performance, and maintenance requirements
3. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to address operational challenges
4. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on continuous improvement
5. Proficient in data analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders
7. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment
