R&D / Product Development Staff (Biscuit / Food Manufacturing)
PT Meiji Food Indonesia is looking for a careful and practical person to join the Technical team as R&D / Product Development Staff (Biscuit / Food Manufacturing). This role handles new product development, product improvement, lab trial activities, technical documentation, and support for product scale-up into mass production.
This position fits someone who enjoys working with food products, raw materials, data, and factory coordination. Daily work includes product trials, formula checks, sample evaluation, reporting, and communication with Production, QFS, PPIC, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
Main responsibilities
Run new product trials and product improvement trials based on schedule, SOP, and technical standards.
Prepare and test product formulations, including raw materials, food additives, process flow, and quality parameters.
Review trial results such as taste, texture, stability, shelf life, and process performance, then give clear follow-up recommendations.
Support product scale-up from laboratory or pilot stage into production line trial and mass production.
Check incoming samples of raw materials and packaging materials for development use, then give quality recommendations.
Maintain trial records, sample data, and analysis results in a proper and organized format.
Prepare product technical documents such as product specifications, process parameters, and work instructions.
Support regulatory and food safety documentation related to BPOM, CPPOB, HACCP, GMP, and other internal standards used by the company.
Perform basic laboratory analysis for physical, chemical, organoleptic, and early microbiology checks based on approved methods.
Join product and process improvement work related to quality, efficiency, and cost improvement.
What we expect
We are looking for someone with a D3 in Food Technology, Agricultural Product Technology, or another related field. Candidates with an S1 in a relevant major are also welcome. Experience in R&D, QA, or QC in food manufacturing or bakery will be an advantage, and fresh graduates may also be considered for the right team setup.
You should have basic knowledge of food ingredients, packaging materials, food processing, simple product development methods, and food analysis. Familiarity with food safety and quality systems such as HACCP, GMP, CPPOB, ISO, or related standards will be useful in this role.
We also expect someone who can handle basic laboratory work, read and organize data properly, and communicate clearly with other departments. You need to be careful, systematic, responsible, and able to work under deadlines while giving practical solutions.
Working style
This role works in both the R&D laboratory and production area. Candidates should be ready to handle project deadlines, technical discussions, and overtime when needed under company policy and applicable employment rules in Indonesia.
Important note: good visual observation is needed for product review and laboratory work, therefore candidates should be physically and mentally fit to carry out detailed visual checks and laboratory readings.
