About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing and executing daily operational activities across the business.

This role is responsible for ensuring operational plans are effectively implemented, departmental coordination runs smoothly, guest experiences are consistently delivered to a high standard, and operational issues are tracked through to resolution. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, responsive, and committed to maintaining operational excellence.

This is an execution-focused role requiring strong follow-through, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management & Execution

  • Support the General Manager in the day-to-day management of operations.

  • Ensure operational plans, schedules, and management directives are executed accurately and on time.

  • Monitor daily operational activities and assist in resolving issues and escalations.

  • Provide hands-on operational support across departments when required.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Room Readiness & Guest Experience

  • Monitor room readiness and preparation prior to guest arrivals.

  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Office teams to ensure accommodation standards are met.

  • Support timely room preparation for check-in and occupancy.

  • Assist in delivering seamless guest check-in and check-out experiences.

  • Coordinate guest requests, amenities, and special arrangements.

  • Proactively identify and address room or service-related issues before they impact the guest experience.

Logbook Management & Operational Follow-Up

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational logbooks.

  • Ensure all operational issues, requests, incidents, and tasks are properly documented.

  • Track and follow up on outstanding operational matters until resolution.

  • Provide timely updates on case progress and completion status.

  • Escalate unresolved or recurring issues to the General Manager.

  • Ensure no operational issue remains unattended.

Cross-Department Coordination

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between departments.

  • Translate management instructions into clear, actionable tasks.

  • Monitor commitments, deadlines, and deliverables across teams.

  • Support daily briefings, handovers, and operational meetings.

Operational Standards & Compliance

  • Uphold company SOPs, service standards, and operational procedures.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and reliability at all times.

  • Support the enforcement of operational discipline and workplace standards.

  • Lead by example through punctuality, professionalism, and strong work ethic.

Availability & Responsiveness

  • Remain accessible for operational matters outside standard working hours when required.

  • Respond promptly to urgent operational communications and incidents.

  • Demonstrate ownership and commitment to ensuring business continuity.

Reporting & Executive Support

  • Provide regular operational updates and reports to the General Manager.

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational summaries.

  • Identify operational risks, delays, or execution gaps and recommend solutions.

  • Act as an operational representative of the General Manager when delegated.

Continuous Learning & Development

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new systems, processes, and operational practices.

  • Continuously improve communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

  • Embrace feedback and implement improvements proactively.

  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of operational standards and performance.

Confidentiality & Professional Conduct

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company operations and sensitive information.

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and confidentiality agreements.

  • Conduct all duties with integrity, professionalism, and discretion.


Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Operations, Hospitality, Hotel Operations, Property Management, or a similar leadership role.

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

  • Flexible and available to support operational requirements when necessary.
