Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue cargo opportunities across domestic and international trade lanes
Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, charterers, brokers, and freight forwarders
Actively source cargo to minimize vessel idle time and optimize utilization
Monitor cargo demand trends and align opportunities with fleet capabilities
Prepare and submit commercial proposals, tenders, and bids
Negotiate freight rates, charter party agreements, and contract terms
Ensure all fixtures are commercially viable and aligned with company targets
Manage contract lifecycle from negotiation through execution and completion
Maintain strong awareness of freight market conditions and competitor positioning
Analyze shipping market trends, cargo flows, and pricing benchmarks
Provide strategic input on trade routes, vessel positioning, and deployment
Identify new business opportunities and potential trade expansions
Maintain a pipeline of cargo prospects and forecast revenue performance
Work closely with operations and fleet teams to ensure cargo commitments align with vessel schedules
Coordinate voyage planning and cargo allocation to maximize efficiency
Address operational or commercial issues arising during voyage execution
Build long-term partnerships with key clients and stakeholders
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Represent the company in meetings, negotiations, and industry events
Ensure all commercial activities comply with maritime regulations and company policies
Assess and mitigate commercial risks in contracts and agreements
Maintain accurate documentation for all fixtures and transactions
