The Procurement Department Head is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end procurement operations. This role ensures efficiency, cost optimization, compliance, and the timely delivery of goods and services in alignment with organizational requirements and strategic objectives.
Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and operational plans aligned with business goals
Ensure procurement processes are effectively aligned with internal Purchase Requests and overall operational needs
Monitor, control, and optimize procurement-related costs to achieve value for money
Oversee vendor sourcing, evaluation, selection, and performance management
Ensure accurate, timely reporting and proper management of procurement data and documentation
Manage procurement activities across both CAPEX and OPEX categories
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and risk management standards
Lead contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, systems, and efficiencies
Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to enhance performance and capability
Proven experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Logistics, including both CAPEX and OPEX
Either:
Minimum 2 years in a managerial or department head role, or
Minimum 4 years in a Superintendent role
Hands-on experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems
Strong knowledge of procurement compliance, governance, and risk management practices
Experience in a similar industry, such as HTI (Industrial Plantation) or plantation-related sectors
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
Effective leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams
Good time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Capability to develop team performance and drive continuous improvement
