MANAGING DIRECTOR — JUNIOR MINERAL EXPLORATION COMPANY, LAO PDR
We are a junior mineral exploration company operating in Lao PDR seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead our next phase of exploration growth.
The Role
The Managing Director will hold full responsibility for the company's exploration programme and in-country operations. This is a hands-on leadership role — the successful candidate will be expected to lead teams in the field, manage government and regulatory relationships, and represent the company to investors and the Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage field exploration programmes targeting base and minor metals
- Build and manage a multi-disciplinary in-country exploration team
- Maintain all exploration licences and manage relationships with the Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines
- Oversee geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysics, and drilling campaigns
- Manage company operations, budgets, and in-country logistics
- Report to the Board and represent the company to investors across the region
- Identify and evaluate new licence and project opportunities in Laos and the broader Mekong region
What We Are Looking For
- Geology degree or equivalent geoscience qualification
- Minimum 12–15 years of mineral exploration experience, with proven field leadership
- Hands-on experience in base metals (Cu, Pb, Zn) and/or minor metals exploration — essential
- Track record of working in frontier or emerging market environments (Southeast Asia, Africa, Central Asia, or equivalent)
- Prior experience leading exploration teams in the field
- Experience operating within junior exploration companies
- Knowledge of JORC or equivalent reporting standards
Experience in Laos or Southeast Asia specifically, and familiarity with Lao government licensing processes, will be highly regarded.
Salary
Commensurate with experience. Equity participation available.
Location
Lao PDR, with travel across Asia-Pacific as required.
