Atera Water is a Singapore-based water technology company spun out of Nanyang Technological University, focused on developing and deploying advanced Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane systems for industrial water treatment, water recycling, and surface water applications across Southeast Asia. Our solutions combine proprietary membrane technology with commercially available components to deliver cost-effective, reliable, and scalable packaged systems.
As we expand our operations in Indonesia, we are seeking an Engineering & Operations Manager to lead the design, deployment, commissioning, and operational performance of our membrane systems on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering design of packaged UF and UF-RO membrane systems for water treatment and wastewater recycling projects.
Work closely with equipment suppliers, and system integrators to finalize equipment specifications, process designs, layouts, and technical documentation that meet project requirements and contractual performance targets.
Lead FAT, installation, commissioning, and startup of membrane systems at client sites, while managing local MEP contractors and installation partners for system deployment.
Oversee operations of deployed systems, including Water-as-a-Service (WaaS) projects, ensuring stable performance, troubleshooting operational issues, and driving continuous performance optimization.
Lead and mentor project engineers, providing technical direction and oversight from proposal development through installation, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
Support business development by providing engineering inputs for proposals and participating in technical discussions with customers, consultants, and partners across pre-sales, execution, and post-commissioning phases.
Plan and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.
Ensure structured collection, analysis, and documentation of operational and performance data, procedures, commissioning, and handover records.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process/Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum 4 years of experience in engineering design, installation, commissioning, and operation of UF / RO membrane systems.
Proven experience delivering packaged water or wastewater treatment systems from design through installation, commissioning, and operations.
Hands-on experience working with suppliers, OEMs, system integrators, and MEP contractors.
Experience managing projects, schedules, and on-site execution.
Ability to lead and guide project engineers across the project lifecycle.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimise membrane system performance.
Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across Indonesia and periodically to Singapore.
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and execution focus.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesian
