HSE Environmental Officer

HSE Environmental Officer - Ensures all operational activities comply with HSE regulations, Group Standard and Procedures, and sustainability objectives. Responsible for monitoring, controlling, and improving environmental performance to maintain regulatory compliance and support sustainable operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor implementation of environmental programs, including waste management, emissions, wastewater treatment, chemical management, and pollution prevention.

• Coordinate with Environmental Specialist/ HSE Manager to ensure compliance with AMDAL, RKL/RPL, PROPER, and applicable environmental regulations. 

• Conduct routine environmental inspections and field verifications to ensure control measures are implemented effectively.

• Track environmental KPIs and progress of environmental initiatives, reporting deviations to management.

• Prepare and submit mandatory environmental reports to government authorities (DLH, KLHK, Perindustrian, ESDM, etc.)

• Support environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

• Manage environmental permits and ensure timely renewal.

• Facilitate internal environmental awareness training and campaigns.

• Oversee contractor activities to ensure environmental compliance in line with company procedures.

• Support project environmental assessments, including risk evaluation and mitigation.

• Maintain environmental monitoring tools, sampling activities, and documentation.

• Participate in sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives (energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, etc.

• Track progress of HSE programs implementation and address deviations with management.

• Monitor and follow up on near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incident investigations and Lessons From Incidents (LFI) to strengthen safety culture.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and Indonesian environmental regulations.

Familiarity with environmental reporting systems (SIMPEL, PROPER, SPEED, SILH, etc.)

Knowledge of waste management, emissions control, pollution prevention, and environmental risk management.

Experience in sampling, environmental measurement, and operational monitoring tools.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline; Fluent in English (written and verbal), proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia; Minimum 3–5 years of experience in environmental compliance roles, with a proven track record in Manufacturing/ Oil and Gas.
