✅ Key Responsibilities
Oversee technical performance, maintenance, and repairs of assigned vessels.
Plan and supervise dry-docking, major repairs, and overhauls – from specifications to execution and reporting.
Perform regular onboard inspections and issue comprehensive technical reports.
Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, and company QHSE policies.
Monitor vessel condition, track planned maintenance, and analyze defects or recurring issues.
Coordinate procurement of spares, services, and technical consumables in line with budget.
Supervise contractors and ensure safety and quality standards during all works.
Assist in investigations (machinery failures, near-misses) and implement corrective actions.
Liaise with Fleet Manager, Operations, HSE, Procurement, and external stakeholders.
Provide technical mentorship to onboard engineers and monitor crew technical performance.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certification
Minimum ATT-II Certificate (Ahli Teknika Tingkat II) or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
Holding a valid seafarer’s COC (Chief Engineer/2nd Engineer) is preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a shore-based technical role such as Technical Superintendent, Port Engineer, or Owner’s Rep.
Proven track record handling AHTS vessels, especially with engine power ≥ 3700 kW.
Experience managing Cable Laying Vessels or other offshore support vessels is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of docking cycles, propulsion systems, DP equipment, and offshore machinery.
🛠 Technical & Soft Skills
Solid knowledge of marine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Familiar with PMS, docking plans, budgeting, Class/Flag requirements, and ISM Code.
Capable of drafting high-quality technical reports, cost control, and maintenance analysis.
Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and leadership skills; ability to work under pressure and across departments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and fleet management software.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally for vessel visits, inspections, and dockings.
