The Finance Staff plays an important role in planning, operational monitoring, and preparing accurate financial data as the basis for strategic decision-making, ensuring program sustainability as well as appropriate and transparent fund allocation for a non-profit organization. This position requires a detail-oriented and strategic individual who is able to manage financial processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and support the organization’s mission through effective financial management.
Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management/Business Administration
Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in financial management.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office & Google Shets
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
Demonstrates high emotional intelligence with the ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
Highly adaptable to change, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Financial Management
Assist the supervisor in financial planning and project budgeting
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and donors.
Conduct financial analyses (Budget vs Actual) and provide recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Track advance project payments and recognise the project expenditure according to plan
Payment processing and voucher documentation
Grant and Fund Management
Manage the financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with donor requirements.
Assist in budget preparation for grant proposals.
Coordinate with internal and external teams on budgeting for grant preparation and reporting.
Review and analyze systems provided by external parties, both domestic and international.
Train/orient project staff on appropriate financial management and compliance practice for non financial staff
Orient staff on donor guidelines and required financial management practices
Administration and Operations
Maintain confidentiality data
Support travel arrangements and logistics for staff members
Assist in procurement processes
Support safe and efficient working environment
Support HR functions
Support internal and external audits
