About the role

Brilliant Think Center is an FMCG Company with the brand "Wookey Wight & Sohoney JR" seeking an exceptional Head of Research and Development to join our team in Palembang, South Sumatra. In this full-time role, you will lead our cutting-edge research and development efforts, driving innovation in the field of food technology and safety. Your strategic leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of our organisation and the wider industry.

What you'll be doing

1. Oversee and direct the R&D team in the development of new food products, processes, and technologies

2. Identify and evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and scientific advancements in the food industry

3. Develop and implement robust research protocols to test and validate new product ideas and enhancements

4. Collaborate cross-functionally with Branding, Marketing, Operations, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure seamless product development and launch

5. Find and build relationships with OEM (Maklon) to produce new products

6. Stay abreast of relevant regulations and safety standards, ensuring all R&D activities adhere to industry best practices

7. Mentor and develop the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning

8. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, contributing to the strategic direction of the company

9. Conducting research on what products will be developed and launched, starting from product knowledge, ingredients to organizing campaigns

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in food technology research and development or nutritionist preferably within a fast-paced, innovative environment

2. Advanced degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Nutritionsist or a related scientific field

3. Proven track record of leading successful new product development and commercialisation efforts

4. Exceptional technical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights

5. Strong project management and team leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams

6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

7. Thorough understanding of food safety regulations, quality control, and industry best practices
