Project Purchasing Staff is responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, and services for new projects and maintenance work, including building, MEP, and equipment. This role ensures all items are sourced at the right quality, price, and time by coordinating with project and site teams, managing suppliers, and handling purchasing documents so projects can run smoothly and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Maintenance Procurement
• Execute purchasing for building, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and equipment needs.
• Translate BoQ, drawings, and work scope into accurate purchasing requirements.
• Ensure materials arrive on time according to project schedule (S-curve / timeline).
2. Vendor & Cost Management
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
• Compare minimum 3 quotations and recommend best value (price, quality, lead time).
• Support cost optimization and value engineering without compromising quality.
3. Purchase Order & Documentation Control
• Prepare and manage PR, PO, DO, Invoice, and supporting documents.
• Ensure compliance with specs, contracts, and internal approval matrix.
• Maintain organized procurement records for audit and tracking.
4. Coordination & Site Support
• Coordinate closely with Project Manager, Site Manager, Engineering, and Finance.
• Monitor delivery status and resolve delays, shortages, or specification mismatches.
• Support emergency or urgent maintenance procurement when required. 5. Reporting & Compliance
• Track procurement progress vs project timeline.
• Report cost variance, supplier issues, and procurement risks.
• Ensure procurement follows company SOP and internal controls
Qualifications
• Minimum Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Construction Management, or related).
• Minimum 3 years experience in project purchasing, construction procurement, or MEP procurement.
• Familiar with building materials, MEP systems, and equipment.
• Able to read BoQ, drawings, and technical specifications (basic–intermediate).
