The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, health-focused cuisine aligned with Reload Sanctuary’s wellness philosophy. This role requires strong culinary skills, creativity in healthy cooking, and the ability to lead kitchen operations while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and nutritional integrity.
Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation
Prepare and present healthy, balanced, and flavorful dishes using fresh, seasonal, and whole ingredients
Support menu development with a focus on:
Nutrient-dense meals
Dietary needs (plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.)
Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet sanctuary standards
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and organized work environment
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness
Manage inventory, reduce food waste, and support cost control
Step in as acting Head Chef when required
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
Strong knowledge of healthy cooking techniques (steaming, fermenting, roasting, low-oil methods, etc.)
Passion for wellness, nutrition, and mindful food preparation
Ability to work efficiently in a calm, wellness-oriented environment
Leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Knowledge of food safety and kitchen best practices
Experience in wellness resorts, retreats, or health-focused restaurants
Understanding of nutrition, superfoods, and special diets
Creative mindset with attention to detail
