Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Core Accounting & Financial Operations
Financial Transactions: Oversee and process daily financial transactions, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and payroll activities.
General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Reconciliations: Perform complex bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Month-End/Year-End Close: Actively participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and posting adjusting journal entries and ensuring timely completion of all closing tasks.
Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset ledger, calculate and record depreciation and amortization.
2. Reporting, Analysis, and Compliance
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements.
Compliance: Ensure all financial practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and all relevant tax laws and regulations.
Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and support to internal and external auditors during annual audits and tax preparations.
Budgeting Support: Assist the Finance Manager with budget preparation and financial forecasting activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance.
Experience: Typically 3-5 years of progressive experience in an accounting role (e.g., Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant).
Technical Proficiency:
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
Proven experience with major accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Odoo, Accurate Online) or ERP systems.
Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles and financial reporting.
